Used car buying service: we find the car and negotiate the deal
Short answer: Drive Right takes used and CPO cars on both plans. For a flat $395 (the Drive Right plan), your advisor searches used, CPO and new dealer inventory for the model you want, works the dealers by phone and email, negotiates and checks the fees. $695 (Drive Right Pro) covers up to three models priced side by side and adds out-of-state dealers. Not every service will do this: when we checked on October 23, 2026, Delivrd, which charges $1,000 per deal, was only negotiating new cars.

Drive Right Pro
Best if you’re torn between a few cars

$695one-time service fee
Full refund if you cancel before negotiations begin.
- Everything in Drive Right
- Offers on up to three models, priced side by side
- We play each model’s dealers against each other’s written offers
- Out-of-state dealers, and we help coordinate shipping when the dealer is open to it
- First in line: your search starts ahead of Drive Right plan searches
- Our pick of the best deal, judged on out-the-door price plus resale and running costs, not just the sticker
A model means a make and model, like a BMW X5. Trims, colors and packages within a model don’t count extra. On the Drive Right plan, you can upgrade to Drive Right Pro later by paying the $300 difference.
Some car buying services only negotiate new cars
A lot of car buying services are built around new cars: one model, one window sticker, the same car at every dealer, so the job is getting the lowest number. Used cars don’t fit that pattern, and some services step back from them.
Delivrd is the clearest example right now. On October 23, 2026, a notice on its Insta-Pay page read “PAUSE on USED: We’re only negotiating new cars,” and the same page lists its fee at $1,000 per deal. Delivrd calls the pause temporary, so check its page before you rule it out.
Drive Right has no pause. Used and CPO cars are part of both plans, at the same flat fee as a new car. Other services that list used cars, with their fees and refund rules, are in car buying services compared, Delivrd alternatives and CarEdge alternatives.
Why a used car is where you want help
- No sticker to anchor the price. Every used car has its own miles, history and condition, so the asking price is a starting point, not a fact. Knowing what comparable cars sell for is most of the negotiation.
- The search is the hard part. The right car might sit on a lot two states away. Finding it takes hours of listings, calls and follow-ups.
- Fees and add-ons hide in the paperwork. Reconditioning fees, dealer add-ons and extended warranties show up late. We check the fees before you sign.
- CPO isn’t one thing. A manufacturer CPO program and a dealer’s own “certified” label can mean very different coverage. Ask which one you are getting.
What Drive Right does on a used car
- You pay the flat fee through Stripe, then tell us the car: models you’d consider, year and mileage range, budget, must-haves and how far you’d travel. Mason replies within one business day of payment to confirm the search and when it starts.
- Your advisor searches used, CPO and new dealer inventory against your search details. Drive Right Pro covers up to three models and adds out-of-state dealers.
- We work the dealers by phone and email, negotiate the price and check the fees, then send written recommendations: what we found and what we’d do.
- You make the final call. If the car is at an out-of-state dealer and you’re on Drive Right Pro, we help coordinate shipping when the dealer is open to it.
Most searches take one to two weeks from payment to a signed deal. Rare specs take longer, and we tell you that up front. Before you sign for any used car, our used-car inspection checklist covers the title, history and recall checks and the questions to ask an independent mechanic.

Common questions
Is there a car buying service for used cars?
Yes. Drive Right searches and negotiates used and CPO cars on both plans: $395 for the Drive Right plan and $695 for Drive Right Pro. Our comparison of car buying services lists which other services take used cars.
Does Delivrd do used cars?
Not right now. On October 23, 2026, Delivrd’s Insta-Pay page said “PAUSE on USED: We’re only negotiating new cars.” It calls the pause temporary.
Can you find a used car in another state?
Yes, on Drive Right Pro. It includes out-of-state dealers, and we help coordinate shipping when the dealer is open to it.
Does a used car cost more to search for?
No. The fee is the same flat $395 or $695 whether the car is new, used or CPO.
Do dealers pay you?
No. Dealers and lenders pay us nothing. You pay one flat fee, so we have no reason to steer you to a particular car or dealer.
