CarEdge alternatives: other services that will negotiate your car deal
Short answer: CarEdge’s Concierge, where a person negotiates for you, costs $999 per car search. For a person to do that work for less, Drive Right charges $395 (Full Service) or $695 (Ultimate Concierge), and Automatch Consulting lists $499 and $599 packages. If you would rather research on your own or let software gather offers, CarEdge’s free tools and its $49.99 AI Buying Agent may be all you need.
We run Drive Right, one of the alternatives below, so read this as a competitor’s comparison. Every fact about CarEdge and the other companies comes from their own websites, with the link next to the fact. We checked them all on October 18, 2026.
What CarEdge offers
CarEdge sells three levels of help, from free research to a person who negotiates for you.
- Concierge: $999 per car search, paid when the search starts, according to its pricing page. A dedicated expert handles research, dealer outreach, test-drive coordination, negotiation, paperwork review and delivery logistics, per its service page. It covers new or used cars, bought or leased, and CarEdge says it has closed deals in all 50 states. Its pricing page says a deal typically takes 7 to 10 days from sign-up to taking the car, and that the fee becomes non-refundable 24 hours after your first consultation, or once you agree to proceed.
- AI Buying Agent: $49.99 during its beta (normally $149), per its checkout page. An AI agent runs the deal, and CarEdge says a person steps in when something unusual comes up, such as a dealer playing games or a strange financing wrinkle. You can get a full refund until it starts contacting dealers.
- Free research tools, including dealer ratings, invoice prices and a depreciation calculator, plus a large library of guides.
CarEdge says the $999 covers the whole search, for any make or model, and that you can cross-shop as many cars as you want.
How CarEdge makes money
CarEdge’s pricing page says: “One-time. No commissions, no dealer kickbacks.” CarEdge also earns money from businesses other than buyers, and it says so on its own site.
- CarEdge Certified is a paid program for dealerships. CarEdge’s dealer page says enrollment “bills a card,” that certified dealers “show up first” when a CarEdge shopper is looking for a car they have, and that a dealer cannot pay to change its CarEdge grade.
- Its terms say CarEdge “may receive compensation or other consideration in connection with referrals, sponsored placements, marketplace activity or Consumer-requested services.”
None of that is hidden, and none of it means a CarEdge negotiator will steer you wrong. If you hire CarEdge, it is fair to ask whether certified dealers get priority in your search. At Drive Right, dealers and lenders pay us nothing. You pay the flat fee, and you’re the only one we work for.
Why people look for a CarEdge alternative
CarEdge is one of the best-known names in car buying help, and its free content is useful whether or not you hire anyone. People who keep looking usually have one of these reasons.
The fee for a person
$999 is a lot to spend before you have saved anything. Drive Right’s Full Service costs $395 and Ultimate Concierge costs $695. Both are one-time fees, and both come with one dedicated advisor who searches, contacts dealers and negotiates.
Wanting a person instead of software
The AI Buying Agent is cheap because software does most of the work. If you want someone who reads each quote, spots the add-ons and pushes back by phone, compare the human tiers only.
Wanting to be the only one paying
Some buyers would rather hire a service with no paid dealer program at all. Drive Right has none: dealers and lenders pay us nothing.
Refund terms
CarEdge’s pricing page says the Concierge fee becomes non-refundable “regardless of the outcome” 24 hours after your first consultation, or once you agree to proceed. At Drive Right, cancel before negotiations begin and you get a full refund. During negotiations, refund eligibility depends on the work already done.
